Tonight: laugh it up at The Lil' Pumpkins Halloween Comedy Hour, dance til you drop (dead) at Emma-Lee's Zombie Prom, and relive Orson Welles' War of the Worlds with the Art of Time Ensemble.

THEATRE: In 1938, with a series of mock news bulletins, Orson Welles convinced many radio listeners that an alien invasion was taking place. Now, the Art of Time Ensemble brings War of The Worlds to the stage with an engaging show-within-a-show format, supplemented by a five-piece live “radio orchestra.” Starring Sean Cullen, Nicholas Campbell, and Marc Bendavid. Enwave Theatre (231 Queens Quay West), 8 p.m., $25–$59.

MUSIC: Tonight, singer-songwriter Emma-Lee is celebrating the release of a music video for her song “Shadow of A Ghost.” She’ll be doing this with a special Zombie Prom concert. Get out that special dress or tux, get your hair done, and then cover it all in blood and guts! Guests must come dressed for the occasion to enjoy the photo booth, prizes, dancing, crowning of zombie prom king and queen, and more. Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West), doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m., $10.

COMEDY: Not brave enough to hit up the haunted houses and scary movies this Halloween season? Maybe hilariously horror-stricken standup and sketch comedy is more your speed. Tonight, Cream of Comedy’s Chris Locke and Aaron Eves host The Lil’ Pumpkins Halloween Comedy Hour. The show will feature a talented list of Canadian comedians, including Kathleen Phillips, Tim Gilbert, David Dineen-Porter, Tom Henry, Brian Barlow, and Nick Flanagan. Double Double Land (209 Augusta Avenue), 9 p.m., FREE.
